🌱 Norfolk Police Officer Violated Policy + Booster Reminder Call

Here are the top three stories in Norfolk today:
- An investigation by the Norfolk Police Department's Office of Professional Standards-Internal Affairs Unit has concluded that an officer violated department policy. An investigation began after allegations of misconduct during a traffic stop came out against Norfolk Police Officer Vincent Tocco. The incident took place in the early morning hours on July 5 last summer near Chesapeake Blvd. and Tallwood Street. According to Attorney Amina Matheny-Willard, Officer Tocco has a history of complaints. (WAVY.com)
- A former Virginia Deputy has been charged with involuntary manslaughter after hitting a pedestrian from Norfolk last year. Former deputy John "J.J." Yenchak was driving on Garrisonville Road in Stafford County just after midnight on July 9, 2021, when he ran into a pedestrian. The victim was later identified as 44-year-old Jesse Schertz of Norfolk, who died at the scene. (13newsnow.com WVEC)
- Vaccinated Norfolk residents may get a text or call reminding eligible residents to get a booster shot. The Norfolk Department of Public Health hopes the initiative will provide an extra push of encouragement. About 5,000 residents are expected to receive the message. (13newsnow.com WVEC)
