  1. Norfolk State University announced that it will postpone the beginning of its spring semester in order to take better precautions against the omicron COVID-19 variant. All students, staff, and faculty who do not already have a vaccine exemption will be required to show proof of having received a booster shot no later than Feb. 4 in order to return to campus. Spring semester classes will begin Jan. 18 and will be held in person. (WAVY.com)
  2. An Amazon truck that was stolen in Norfolk on Wednesday has been found. Police received a call after the vehicle was taken from the Young Terrace neighborhood around noon. Officers recovered the vehicle around 1:15 p.m. and detained a person of interest shortly after. The investigation into the incident is still active. (WAVY.com)
  3. A mama bear and three cubs were spotted lounging in a Chesapeake neighborhood earlier this week. Witnesses say the animals climbed a tree on Bruin Drive late Monday evening and napped for several hours before moving on voluntarily. Officials had asked residents near the tree to stay inside and blocked off the road from outside visitors in order to give the bears space. (Richmond.com)
