The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Norfolk.

Happy Monday, neighbors! Here's everything you need to know to get this day started. Here's everything going on around town today.

First, today's weather:

Mostly sunny. High: 46 Low: 32.

Here are the top three stories in Norfolk today:

  1. Professional hockey fans, take note: Norfolk will be hosting the 2023 Warrior/ECHL All-Star Classic! The big game will take place on Jan. 16, 2023, at Norfolk Scope Arena; other events include an All-Star Fan Fest and the annual ECHL Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Next year marks Norfolk's second time hosting, with the first taking place back in 1994. (WAVY.com)
  2. Norfolk's Ocean View neighborhood is known to flood around the 3rd Bay Street area during high tide. However, back-to-back snowstorms exacerbated the wet conditions on Saturday, causing tidal flooding to flow into parking lots and intersections near the Ocean View creek. Workers with the Virginia Department of Transportation worked to keep roads clear until the tides receded. (13newsnow.com WVEC)
  3. According to economists at Old Dominion University, the worst of COVID-19's economic impact could very well be behind us. With a sudden loss of jobs at the start of the pandemic followed by a quick rebound, economists are predicting 2.4% real GDP growth in the Hampton Roads area for 2022. (WAVY.com)
