Roanoke's Carilion Clinic Wins Federal Grant to Test Whether Psilocybin Can Help People with Cocaine Addiction (medicaldaily.com) — Carilion Clinic in Roanoke has secured a federal grant, potentially up to $3.5 million, to study whether supervised psilocybin with therapy can help people with cocaine addiction. The multi-year trial will recruit from the broader community, including the Roanoke Valley, but doctors stress the treatment is experimental and that residents should rely on established counseling and support services for now.
