• Registration Open For Vienna's Annual Walk To Fight Hunger (patch.com) — Vienna residents are invited to join the annual CROP Hunger Walk on Sept. 27, starting at Emmaus United Church of Christ on Maple Avenue. The 2.4-mile walk raises funds for global hunger relief and local efforts through the Committee for Helping Others, continuing a Vienna tradition that has generated hundreds of thousands of dollars since the mid-1990s.
   

• Virginia Woman Blames Muslim Mom for 9/11 and Tells Her to Leave the Country: '9/11 Occurred Because of You' (thenerdstash.com) — A Muslim mother says she was told to "go home" and blamed for 9/11 while dining with her kids at Carnegie Diner & Café in Vienna prompting staff there to back her and not the harasser. Her video of the confrontation, recorded inside and in the parking lot, has drawn widespread online criticism of the anti-Muslim remarks and support for her right to belong.
