Norfolk State University's Justin Journette Posts Triple Crown Season
Junior OF Justin Journette of The Norfolk State University Spartans baseball team posted an incredible 2025 season, a triple crown season.

The Norfolk State University Spartans baseball team finished their 2025 regular season on Saturday, May 17th with Senior Day at Marty Miller Field, Norfolk. I was lucky enough to attend several games this season at Marty Miller Field and cheer on the Spartans as they played competitive baseball in the Northeast Conference. The Spartans have a talented roster, great fans, play on an amazing field, and were an absolutely awesome experience every time I visited Marty Miller.
Of all the players I went to see play at NSU this season, one very talented player stood out amongst his peers and teammates - OF, #2, Justin Journette. With all due respect to his Spartan teammates, Journette's presence at the plate was must see fan watching every single at bat. In fact, every game I attended, Journette put on an offensive display of power - hitting towering home runs, crushing line drives into the gaps of the outfield, and driving in runners on a consistent basis. His season stats were very impressive to say the least:
- Batting average - .331
- Hits - 55
- Home Runs - 15
- RBI's - 45
- Stolen bases - 5
- bold denotes team leader
Journette led the NSU Spartans baseball club in nearly every offensive category except for hits and stolen bases. A triple crown season for 2025, leading the Spartans in batting average, home runs, and runs batted in. Wow what a year for #2. And to pile on a bit on Justin's 2025 season, he surpassed the all time home run record at Norfolk State University, a record that stood for nearly 4 decades. Here is local WAVY-10 with the story and video highlights - Journette New HR King.
