Virginia Beach domestic horror leaves woman dead, suspect critically injured as infant death investigation unfolds (shorenewsnetwork.com) — Virginia Beach police are investigating a deadly domestic shooting that left a 22-year-old woman dead and a 22-year-old man critically injured inside a Magnolia Chase Way home. Detectives are also probing a possibly related incident from the previous day, when an infant connected to the same individuals was found unresponsive in a vehicle and later died at the hospital.
   

2. Virginia Beach Authorities Search For Owner Of Abandoned Blind Dog ‘Blossom' (nationalenquirer.com) — Virginia Beach Animal Services is asking residents for help identifying the owner of a severely neglected, blind dog found near South Plaza Trail and Holland Road. Staff have named her Blossom and are focused on her recovery while investigating possible cruelty. Anyone who recognizes her or knows her owner is urged to contact Animal Services by phone or email.
   

3. Several Virginia Beach council members push to ban data centers, hyperscale facilities (13newsnow.com) — Virginia Beach City Council members are moving toward banning traditional and hyperscale data centers, directing staff to draft zoning changes that would prohibit them while still allowing subsea cable landings and co-location sites by permit. Officials say the massive facilities would strain land, power and neighborhoods, and emphasize the city is not recruiting such projects under its current tax structure.
   

4. Donations destroyed at Samaritan House in Virginia Beach (wavy.com) — Samaritan House staff in Virginia Beach arrived last week to find donated items outside their Southern Boulevard office ripped open and ruined by rain, forcing everything to be discarded. To keep future contributions safe and usable, the nonprofit is asking residents to drop off donations only during weekday business hours or arrange a pickup through its partner thrift store.
   

5. Man found guilty in fatal shooting at ugly sweater party in Virginia Beach (wavy.com) — A Portsmouth man has been convicted of second-degree murder and firearm charges for a 2023 shooting at an ugly sweater party on Riverbend Road in Virginia Beach that killed one person and injured another man who uses a wheelchair. He faces sentencing in September, while an alleged accomplice is now charged with accessory and evidence concealment.
