Sentara asks Historic Triangle residents to share health care experiences in survey (wydaily.com) — Residents in the Historic Triangle, including Williamsburg, are being asked to share their experiences with Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center through a new survey open through the fall. Responses will guide a 21-member Community Council and William & Mary health experts as they identify barriers to care and help the hospital create more inclusive, responsive services for local patients.
   

2. Virginia Mom Gets 6-Month Suspended Jail Sentence for Letting 5-Year-Old Walk to the Pond (reason.com) — A Williamsburg mother who let her 5-year-old walk alone to a nearby pond in their gated community was convicted of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and given a suspended six‑month jail sentence. The case, handled through James City County authorities and CPS, raises questions about Virginia's new reasonable childhood independence law and what counts as neglect for local parents.
   

3. Busch Gardens Howl-O-Scream returns this fall: Here's what to know (13newsnow.com) — Busch Gardens' Howl-O-Scream is returning to Williamsburg from Sept. 11 through Nov. 1, with haunted houses, shows, and nighttime coasters included in regular admission. Local visitors should note new chaperone and bag policies, plus optional Quick Queue and Sip & Scream upgrades that change how families and adults can experience the park after 4 p.m.
   

4. Country music star Cleve Francis recalls Williamsburg in new memoir (pilotonline.com) — Cleve Francis' new memoir highlights the pivotal years he spent in Williamsburg as a William & Mary graduate student, musician, and future cardiologist.
