- Sarita Shakya of San Diego was behind the wheel of a car that was struck head-on by an eastbound driver on westbound Camino Del Norte.
- Although no drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, 19 motorists were cited for driving unlicensed.
Driver Ditches Car in Escondido During High-Speed Pursuit
- The driver apparently abandoned the car after it struck a light pole, authorities said.

- BREAKING: San Diego Police said gunfire was reported shortly after 12:30 p.m. Monday near Jewel Street and Roosevelt in Pacific Beach.
