An Injured Orange County Deputy Returns Home. Just two days after the massive shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas, the Orange County Sheriff's Department assisted this Yorba Linda Deputy back to his home. His heroic actions saved his wife and others during the attack.

The LA Kings are honoring one of their fan services associates, a 22-year-old Redondo Beach woman, who was killed while attending the Route 91 country music festival. Kings players will wear a "CD" sticker on the back of their helmets in honor of Christiana Duarte, and all Kings staff members will wear a special pin in tribute to her, according to the team.

As everyone mourns the loss of innocent lives, heroes have come to light. A retired Manhattan Beach police sergeant drove all the way to Las Vegas to donate blood in honor of his former co-worker, an MBPD employee who was shot and killed. Also, the girlfriend of the gunman who authorities say carried out the Las Vegas massacre arrived at LAX today, and law enforcement officials hope she can shed light on the motive behind the worst mass shooting in U.S. history.

Some good news for a mid-week pick-me-up, National Walk to School Day was a success across the Southland. Walkers brought signs, wore bright vests and formed "walking school buses" of children with parent volunteers in front and behind.See photos of some adorable kids on their way to school.

A Los Angeles City Council committee is set to begin discussion on making Los Angeles the first city in the nation with its own bank, which would give marijuana dispensary operators access to banking services.
