Penguin Gets Custom Shoes; World's Oldest Dog: CA Animal Stories

CALIFORNIA – Creatures great and small in California, we love them all. Animals from all over the Golden State recently made headlines, and Patch curated some of the most adorable and interesting stories.

The world's smallest penguins are at Birch Aquarium in La Jolla, which is the only exhibit to feature little blue penguins in the western United States. The world's oldest dog is from Los Angeles.

A baby sea lion was rescued after getting stranded on Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach. A penguin with a degenerative foot condition at the San Diego Zoo was fitted with custom orthopedic footwear.
