Cheshire Election Results 2019: Vote Totals For Every Race

CHESHIRE, CT — It was a big night for Republicans in Cheshire, picking up a seat on the Town Council to hold a 7-2 majority and taking control of the Board of Education in Tuesday’s municipal election.

All of the referendum questions that were on the ballot were approved, according to town officials. The ballot questions and explanatory text, can be found here

(Original post) CHESHIRE, CT — The votes are now being counted as Cheshire residents wait to see who has been elected to the town council and board of education. Additionally, there were elections for board of assessment appeals, planning and zoning commission, zoning board of appeals and constables, along with several ballot questions.

For Council At-Large, residents voted for any five candidates. The Democratic candidates were Lynn Alvey Dawson and Patti Flynn-Harris. The Republican candidates were Sylvia Nichols, Tom Slocum, David Borowy, Paul Bowman and Rob Oris.

The Town Council district races were: 1st District) A. Fiona Pearson, Democrat, and David Veleber, Republican; 2nd District) Jim Jinks, Democrat, and Guy Darter, Republican; 3rd District) Jeffrey Falk, Democrat, and Don Walsh, Republican; and 4th District) Peter Talbot, Democrat, unopposed.

For the Board of Education, residents voted for any four candidates. The Democratic candidates were: Jami Ferguson, Christopher Affie, Sam Rosenberg and Anne Harrigan. The Republican candidates are Tim White, Gary Riccini, Andrew Martelli and Faith Ham. Joseph Bango ran as a Petitioning Candidate.

Incumbent Town Clerk Laura Brennan, a Republican, ran unopposed.

For Board of Assessment Appeals, residents voted for any two candidates. The Democratic candidates were Laura DeCaprio and Kathleen Held and Cathy Devlin was the Republican candidate.

For Planning and Zoning Commission (full term), residents voted for any three candidates. The Democratic candidates were Robert Anderson and Matt Bowman. The Republican candidates were Robert N. Brucato and S. Woody Dawson. Residents also voted for one candidate for Planning and Zoning Commission Alternate. Casey Downes was the Democratic candidate and Joseph Grippe was the Republican candidate.

For Zoning Board of Appeals, residents voted for any three candidates. The Democratic candidates were Gerald Devine, Christine Norton, and Breina Schain. The Republican candidates were Jackie Cianci and John J. Hilzinger. Residents also voted for one candidate for Zoning Board of Appeals Alternate. The Democratic candidate was Harold Jordan Jr. and the Republican candidate was Ginny Ogurick.

For Constables, residents voted for any two candidates. The Democratic candidates were Aleta Looker and Ronald A. Gagliardi. The Republican candidates were James Nankin and Randy Raines.
