Police Arrest Hamden High Student in Connection with Attempted Armed Robbery of Pizza Delivery Driver
The attempted robbery of the Legend Pizza driver occurred in December.

Police have arrested a Hamden High School student in connection with the attempted robbery of a Legend Pizza delivery driver in December.
The 17-year-old male student was arrested on a warrant Monday morning at the high school, Police Capt. Ronald Smith said in a press release.
The arrest stems from the Dec. 16 incident in which police responded to Manila Avenue on the report of an attempted robbery of the delivery driver.

Investigation revealed that the driver was making a delivery to a Manila Avenue address when he was approached by two individuals.

While the deliveryman was seated inside of his vehicle, one of the individual’s pointed a gun at his head. The individual threatened to shoot him if he did not relinquish his vehicle. The deliveryman attempted to disarm the individual, before safely driving away.
Detective Brian Stewart conducted an extensive investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for the 17-year-old Hamden resident.
Hamden Police School Resource Officers Scott Jason and Jay Bunnell arrested the juvenile at Hamden High School at about 11:30 a.m. Monday morning. The juvenile was transported to police headquarters.
The teen was charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit robbery and first-degree criminal attempt to commit robbery. He is scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court in New Haven on Jan. 22.
