STAMFORD, CT — In addition to wearing a GPS tracking device around her ankle, Michelle Troconis will also have to serve her house arrest in the Jennifer Farber Dulos case at a residence in Connecticut, a judge ruled on Thursday, the Stamford Advocate reported.

Troconis was convicted earlier this month in the disappearance and death of Jennifer Dulos, the 50-year-old New Canaan mother of five who vanished on May 24, 2019. Jennifer's body has not been found, and she was officially declared dead late last year.

Following her conviction, Troconis was taken into custody and is being held in lieu of bail of $6 million, up from her previous bail of $2.1 million. Her attorney, Jon Schoenhorn, told Patch that he does not anticipate her posting bond anytime soon, so she remains in Connecticut's York Correctional Institution until her sentencing on May 31.

At her sentencing, Troconis faces a maximum of 20 years in prison, if the sentences run concurrently, or 50 years if they run consecutively. Schoenhorn has filed motions to overturn the conviction and hold a new trial.

During Thursday's hearing, Troconis appeared remotely from the prison. In addition to requiring her to reside in Connecticut if she posts bond, Troconis must also surrender all active and expired passports; she is a dual U.S. and Venezuelan citizen.

Schoenhorn reportedly claimed that the Connecticut residency requirement was unconstitutional, but his argument did not persuade Judge Gary White. While free on bond before her trial, Troconis often traveled out-of-state, and even had the GPS tracking device removed by the court.

Authorities believe Jennifer Dulos was murdered by her estranged husband, the late Fotis Dulos, who was assisted in the crime by Troconis and Kent Mawhinney. The Duloses were in the midst of a contentious divorce and child custody fight at the time of her disappearance.

Troconis was Fotis Dulos' girlfriend at the time, and Mawhinney was a friend of Fotis' and attorney. Fotis Dulos was arrested on kidnapping and murder charges, but never stood trial, because he died by suicide in January 2020.

Like Troconis, Mawhinney was also charged with conspiracy to commit murder, but a date for his trial has not been set.
