Foodie Favorites, Award Winners: Best DC, NoVaRestaurants 2017

WASHINGTON, DC — The northern Virginia/Washington restaurant scene snagged quite a few accolades in 2017, including two prestigious James Beard nominations for a DC chef and restaurant, plus kudos from The Washington Post and Open Table lists for regional eateries that serve up the best burgers in the country and are just plain some of the best dining spots nationally. As 2017 winds down it's a good time to look back at some of the rankings that gave high marks to NoVa food, from the best brunch and diner spots found in Arlington to the essential dishes served at an Annandale eatery.

DC Restaurants Dominate OpenTable's 2017 Top 100 In The US List

OpenTable has released its list of the 100 Best Restaurants in America for 2017, and a staggering eight D.C.-area restaurants have made the list. Chez Billy Sud, Kinship, Harold Black, Le Diplomate, Marcel's, and Rasika scored spots, as did Joe's Seafood. Just outside of D.C. in Great Falls, L'Auberge Chez Francois was also recognized.

An Arlington restaurant is among the top 100 brunch spots in the U.S., according to OpenTable. Freddie's Beach Bar & Restaurant made the cut for the 2017 list.

Arlington Diner Named 'Best 24-Hour Restaurant' In Virginia

Cosmopolitan compiled a list of the best 24-hour restaurants in each state, and an Arlington diner took Virginia's top spot. You probably already know which one — Bob & Edith's Diner.
