Walmart Security Officer Shot and Killed in Lilburn
Police are searching for a man they say shot and killed a Walmart security officer Sunday night during a failed shoplifting attempt.

Barney Simms, a church and community leader in his southwest Atlanta neighborhood, was found shot to death in front of his Connally Drive home Saturday afternoon.
Police told Channel 2 Action News they heard gunshots around 4 pm. Simms' body was found in a set of bushes off to the side of the house, according to the AJC. >>> Read more.
Missing Child Found, Doraville Dad Surrenders
The father of a one-year-old boy missing since Friday surrendered the child to police in Florida. The boy's father, Willis Anthony Johnson, 31, abducted Carter Willis Johnson, on April 1, according to police. An Amber alert was issued Friday, with the statement that the boy was believed to be in extreme danger.
Carter Johnson had last been seen by his mother on April 1 when she dropped the boy off at his father's for a court-ordered visit. The visit was only supposed to have lasted two days. >>> Read more.
