• Sobriety checkpoints begin at state border (nowgeorgia.com) — Sobriety checkpoints are underway this week in Columbus, especially along Victory Drive as drivers cross from Phenix City, as part of the multi-state "Hands Across the Border" DUI prevention campaign. Local and state agencies will keep road checks going across the Chattahoochee Valley and Georgia through Labor Day, reminding drivers that Georgia's legal blood alcohol limit is .08.
