Douglas County Honors Employees of the Year
Employees were selected from seven county departments.

The Douglas County Board of Commissioners, in partnership with Frank P. Dorris American Legion Post 145, is proud to recognize the County’s Employees of the Year.
The County selects a total of seven employees: Firefighter, EMT/Paramedic, Sheriff Administrative, Sheriff Enforcement, Sheriff Detention, Administration, and Staff. Each person was nominated by their department director, and were chosen by the Fire Chief, Sheriff, and County Administrator, respectively.

American Legion Post 145 hosts an annual dinner at their facility, during which the awards are presented.
The 2014 Douglas County government Employees of the Year are:

- Jennifer Moore, Staff Paralegal and Legislative Liaison, Board of Commissioners Office - Her role includes assisting in legal matters and representing the County in issues that come before the Georgia General Assembly.
- Doug Turner, Heavy Equipment Mechanic II, Fleet Management - He is on call daily, keeping Douglas County’s fleet of vehicles operational and in good working condition. He also assists with County auctions and does all road calls.
- Sgt. Michael George, Firefighter/EMT, Fire Department - A Douglas County native, he has been with the County since 2010. He is married with two children.
- Bryce Reckner, Firefighter/Paramedic/EMT, Fire Department - Originally from Pennsylvania, he came to work for Douglas County in 2011. He is married with three children.
- Kim Lamb, Information Services, Sheriff’s Department - She is skilled at operating and maintaining a host of network operations. She is a non-sworn officer who is on call every day.
- Bryland Myers, Investigations, Sheriff’s Department - He is well-trained and efficient in taking a little information and turning it into a major drug bust.
- Wes Phillips, Detention, Sheriff’s Department - Working inside the Douglas County jail, he specializes in finding contraband when inmates enter the jail. Searching inmates and training other officers on how to find contraband in his expertise.
