Fireworks are allowed in Georgia, but only until 11:59 p.m. Have a large bucket of water and/or water hose nearby in case of any mishaps.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA – The Douglas County Sheriff's Office has put out a reminder for the public about the legal use of fireworks within the county.

Here are a few reminders about the upcoming holiday:

  • Records Division will be closed on July 4th.
  • Some Sheriff's personnel will be participating in the parade Wednesday and will be at Hunter Park afterwards.
  • Fireworks are allowed in Georgia, but only until 11:59 p.m. Have a large bucket of water and/or water hose nearby in case of any mishaps.
  • Celebrate responsibly! Drinking alcohol and setting off explosives is never a good mix. Neither is drinking and driving.
  • Be mindful that some of your neighbors may not enjoy fireworks.
