Johns Creek Voters Head To The Polls on Tuesday

Voters will cast ballots in the Jan. 6 special election to fill the House District 50 seat.

Johns Creek voters on Tuesday will go to the polls to cast ballots in the Jan. 6 special election to fill the Georgia House District 50 seat.

Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to allow voters to choose among five candidates to succeed Lynne Riley, who was tapped by Gov. Nathan Deal to serve as the state’s revenue commissioner.

Republicans Kelly Leigh Stewart, Royce M. Reinecke and Bradford Jay Raffensperger, Libertarian Christine A. Austin and Paul Troop — who did not list a party affiliation — all qualified to run in the race.

While this is a nonpartisan special, each candidate’s party affiliation, if any, will be listed on the ballot. A runoff, if needed, will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 3

Taylor Road Middle School was originally chosen as a polling location. However, ongoing renovations at the school propelled the Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections to move the location to Chattahoochee High School.
