Armed Robber Yells 'Police, Narcotics' Before Kicking in Door to PC Apartment

A Peachtree Corners man said an armed robber yelled “Police. Narcotics” before kicking in the door to his apartment and stealing money and cell phones.

According to a Gwinnett County Police incident report, the Medlock Woods Apartments resident said he and woman friend were in the apartment around 9 a.m. on Oct. 24 when the incident reportedly happened. Medlock Woods is located in Beverly Glenn Village Lane in Peachtree Corners.

The suspect, described as a black man in his late 20s or early 30s, pulled out a handgun, ordered the residents to lie face down on the floor, and asked “Where’s the money?” The victim pointed to his pants pockets.

The suspect stole $300, grabbed two cell phones lying on a table, and left the apartment. He also punched the man in the face with one of the cell phones. The man declined medical attention.

The suspect was between 6 feet and 6 feet, 2 inches tall, and 180 to 200 pounds. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, tan or khaki pants and a black bandana over his face.

The incident report also stated that the investigating officer noticed the odor of marijuana in the apartment when he went in to check things out. The officer also saw two grinders, commonly used for marijuana. The windows of the apartment were open.

The man denied smoking or selling drugs and said he had not smoked pot since before his recorder’s court date on Oct. 22 for possession of marijuana.

There apparently was not enough probably cause to arrest the man. The suspect in the armed robbery had not been located at the time the incident report was prepared.
