Home Invasion 'Persons Of Interest' In Custody In Winnetka, Northbrook Incidents
Authorities said persons of interest in two armed home invasions in the North Shore are in custody.
WINNETKA, IL — Four "persons of interest" believed to be connected to two separate armed home invasion incidents in the North Shore were arrested over the weekend, authorities announced.
Authorities have been investigating an incident that happened at a Winnetka home on March 8, where a resident was held at gunpoint by a group of masked men as they robbed the house.
In the Winnetka incident, the group gained entry to the home by posing as delivery drivers.

On Friday, Northbrook police responded to another armed home invasion incident in Northbrook.

According to Northbrook police, the incident began at around 2 p.m. in the 1900 block of Butternut Lane. Neighbors told ABC7 that one of the residents in the home was pistol-whipped by one of the suspects, who forced themselves inside the home.
The suspects fled the scene before police arrived, but the Illinois State Police pursued their vehicle to the 12600 block of South Wallace Street in Chicago.
"Persons of interest are in police custody for both incidents, and the investigation is ongoing. We do not believe there is a threat to the general public at this time, but continue to recommend vigilance and calling 911 to report any suspicious activity," Winnetka police said in a statement.
Investigators believe the individuals involved with the Northbrook home invasion are connected to the Winnetka incident.
Both the Northbrook and Winnetka Police Departments have increased patrols in residential neighborhoods, "out of an abundance of caution."
Authorities believe neighbors on nearby streets with security cameras may have captured the car in the area.
