We’re Afraid To Go To School’ Montgomery Students Say At Capitol

Montgomery County Public Schools students were among thousands nationwide who joined the "ENOUGH National School Walkout" on Wednesday, March 14. The movement is designed to protest recent gun violence in schools and call for stricter laws. Participating students from Maryland, DC and northern Virginia schools walked out of class and made their way to the nearest Metro station, despite school officials urging themto stay on campus. The packs of students traveled to DC, where they held a rally exactly one month after 17 people were killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

Annapolis Advances In Strongest Town Title Hunt

Annapolis asked and you answered, advancing the capital city in the first round of the Strongest Town contest. City officials now urge residents to vote by Friday morning for their hometown in the next level of the bracket-style contest, which pits Annapolis against Morelia, Mexico.

9 Charged In Heroin Ring With Baltimore, New York Links: Police

Eight Baltimore residents and one New York man have been charged with numerous drug trafficking crimes, including distributing heroin and the even more lethal fentanyl, according to Maryland State Police.

Deadly Snakes, Gators Seized From 'VenomMan' YouTube Poster

A former wildlife preserve worker is charged with keeping deadly snakes, a crocodile and alligators in his Maryland apartment, police say. The Washington County man known as "VenomMan20" on his YouTube channel was charged Friday by Maryland Natural Resources Police with 23 counts of illegal possession of venomous snakes, animal cruelty and reckless endangerment.
