  1. One Dead After Serious Crash on Quincy Avenue - In June, one person died after a fatal crash on Quincy Avenue.
  2. Boston Woman Faces Charges After Mall Parking Lot Fight - In October, a Boston woman was arrested after a parking dispute at the South Shore Plaza. Julie E. Brodney, 35, was charged with two counts of assault and battery and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon according to Braintree Police Chief Russ Jenkins.

Four Arrested for Allegedly Running Heroin Operation in Braintree - In June, four people were arrested in connection to a heroin delivery system operating in Quincy, Braintree, Randolph, and Brockton. Jordan Martinez, 25, of Dorchester; Alexa Geracie, 21, of Plymouth; and Luis Guerrero, age 22, Chelsea, were all charged with trafficking over 200 grams of heroin and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Brian Stuart, 34, of Quincy, was charged with conspiracy to violate drug laws.
  4. Easton Man Killed in Fatal Motorcycle Accident - In September, a person was killed after a motorcycle accident in Braintree. The motorcyclist was traveling near the Route 93 entrance on Granite Street when he collided with a truck, according to the Norfolk District Attorney’s office. The victim was identified as James Oldfield, age 32, of North Easton, Mass.
  5. Braintree Student Charged with Bringing Gun to School - In April, a 14-year-old student at the St. Francis of Assisi School in Braintree was arrested on for allegedly bringing a gun to school. Braintree police were made aware of the situation after a student at the school informed police that the suspect bragged about having the weapon. Another report to police said that the gun could be seen in the suspect’s bag.

MBTA Police Searching for Teens Caught Vandalizing Red Line Train - In March, MBTA Transit Police received a report of a group of teens that knocked out the window of a train at Downtown Crossing. A witness on the train told police that he saw about 200 teens in blue Braintree High School uniforms and 10-15 teens hitting the windows.
  7. Car Chase Ends with Crash at Braintree Home - In October, a vehicle allegedly stolen in Walpole crashed in Braintree Thursday night after a chase that started in Brockton. The chase ended in Braintree when the vehicle jumped the curb and crashed into a fence, stopping just short of a home.
  8. Braintree Man Fatally Struck by Car in Quincy - In July, a 65-year-old man from Braintree was killed in Quincy while trying to cross Quincy Shore Drive in a crosswalk. A vehicle in the right lane, the lane closest to the victim, stopped to let him cross but a car in the next lane, operated by a 30-year-old Boston man, struck the man.
  9. Braintree Home Destroyed by Three-Alarm Fire - In April, a Trefton Avenue home was destroyed overnight when a three-alarm fire completely engulfed the building. Fire crews were able to clear the scene, but not before the home was destroyed by the flames.
  10. Two Struck by Vehicle in Stop & Shop Parking Lot - In May, two people were hit by a vehicle in the parking lot of Stop & Shop on Grove Street. Up to six cars were hit during the accident, which saw a 93-year-old driver lose control of her car.
