2 Arrested After Physical Altercation And Stabbing In Medford
The incident took place in a parking lot outside of a pet supplies store.
MEDFORD, MA — Two people were arrested Tuesday afternoon in the aftermath of a physical altercation that ultimately resulted in a stabbing, according to the Medford Police Department.
Officers responded to the Pet Supplies Plus store at 630 Fellsway in the Wellington neighborhood at approximately 4 p.m. to find two men fighting with each other. According to police, the situation began when one person threw an object through the other’s vehicle window, causing the window to break along with other damage. This caused the fight to break out in which one man pulled a knife and stabbed the other multiple times. Upon police arrival, the man who was stabbed fled the area but was quickly located and apprehended. He was transported to the hospital to treat his injuries, which police said are non-life-threatening. The other stayed on the scene and was also taken into custody.
Both men are facing multiple charges and are slated to be arraigned in Somerville District Court in the coming days. According to police, the parties knew each other personally prior to the violent altercation.
“Because this incident is domestic in nature, and in accordance with Massachusetts law, the names of those involved will not be released,” the department said in a statement.
