Former Rep. Barney Frank Endorses Ruthanne Fuller For Reelection
Frank applauded Fuller's commitment to creating affordable housing in Newton.

NEWTON, MA â Former Representative Barney Frank has endorsed Mayor Ruthanne Fuller in her campaign for reelection as Mayor of Newton.
Frank, who represented his home city of Newton and the Fourth Congressional District from 1981 to 2013, applauded Fuller's commitment to creating affordable housing in Newton.
âIâm with Ruthanne because of her strong track record on and commitment to affordable housing.â said Frank in a statement.

The endorsement from Frank comes after Fuller's endorsement from EMILY's List, a national organization dedicated to promoting women candidates for office, National Champion for Women's Equality Barbara Lee, a group of local environmental leaders, former Mayor of Newton and State Representative from the 11th Middlesex District David Cohen, Newton City Council President Susan Albright and Vice President Rick Lipof, Rep. Kay Khan, Congressman Jake Auchincloss, former Rep. Joe Kennedy, Newton City Council chairs, and former Newton City Councilors and Aldermen.
Fuller has also been endorsed by the North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, the first union to endorse a candidate in this year's mayoral election, and Engine 6, a voluntary association of Newton residents who advocate for fair, affordable, abundant, and diverse housing.
