10. What Will the New Stoughton High School Look Like?

In March, a rendering of the proposed new Stoughton High School by the town's high school building committee was released.

9. Stoughton Targeted for New Dairy Queen

The ice cream chain, which currently operates 33 Bay State locations, will add 60 more in the next five years, a company official told the Boston Globe in March. Plymouth, Stoughton, Peabody, Burlington, Billerica, Worcester, and Amherst were mentioned as possible locations.

8. Alleged Stoughton CVS Shooter Faces Weapons, Rape Charges from Another Case

7. Stoughton Man Wins $1 Million Lottery Prize

In February, a Stoughton man became the first $1 million winner in a new Massachusetts Lottery game. Local resident Greg Armstrong won the prize while playing the Lottery’s $2,000,000 50X Cashword instant game.

6. Southeastern Students Told They're Out of the Stoughton HS Marching Band

In June, John Goldberg, a student at Southeastern, told the Stoughton School Committee that he was recently that students from the school were no longer permitted to play with the Stoughton marching band. The school committee, however, said they would discuss and vote on the issue at a later meeting.

In April, a Stoughton woman faced multiple charges after police allegedly found her asleep behind the wheel.

4. Canton Street Stabbing Leaves One Dead

3. Sonic Drive-in Finally Opens

After a couple of delays and several meetings with town committees, Sonic Drive-in finally had their grand opening in November.

2. Stoughton Arrests Made in Massive Gang Bust

In June, a multi-agency investigation led to the arrest of 66 people in Stoughton, Boston, Chelsea, Brockton, Quincy, and Lynn.

1. Wrong-Way Driver in 495 Crash Was Stoughton Native, Counseled Troubled Teens

The driver of a the wrong-way car in a fiery crash that killed five on Interstate 495 in October was a Stoughton native. Police identified the driver as Valantein V. Burson.
