Central NH Sobriety Checkpoint Coming In Late July
NHSP, local police will be hosting the checkpoint in the Bedford area during the weekend of July 28.

BEDFORD, NH — The New Hampshire State Police and Bedford Police Department announced on Saturday that both departments will be hosting a joint sobriety checkpoint at some location in town during the July 28, 2017, weekend, according to a press statement. The checkpoint has been authorized by the Hillsborough County Superior Court and will be conducted under guidelines promulgated by the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office, Lt. N.A. Noyes of Troop B noted in the statement.

The New Hampshire State Police and the Bedford Police consider the identification and apprehension of impaired drivers and enforcement of the driving while intoxicated statutes to be a top priority, he stated. Sobriety checkpoints are one of the best methods of deterring the impaired driver.
