Sobriety Checkpoint Coming During the Weekend of June 24

New Hampshire State Police and local police are putting together another sobriety checkpoint in the Granite State. Here are the details.

BEFORD, NH - Colonel Robert Quinn, the director of the New Hampshire State Police and Bedford Police Chief John Bryfonski announced that during the weekend of June 24, 2016, State Police Troopers from Troop B in Bedford and Officers of the Bedford Police Department will conduct a Sobriety Checkpoint somewhere in Bedford, according to a press statement.

The checkpoint is authorized by the Hillsborough County Superior Court, and will be conducted under guidelines promulgated by the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office, according to Sgt. Callinan of the NHSP.

"The New Hampshire State Police and the Bedford Police consider the identification and apprehension of impaired drivers and enforcement of the Driving While Intoxicated statutes to be a top priority," he noted. "Sobriety checkpoints are one of the best methods of deterring the impaired driver."
