CONCORD, NH — A man who was accused of bothering other hotel guests, barricading himself into his room, and making 911 bomb threats is scheduled to be arraigned Friday on several charges.

Drew Parenteau, 38, of an unknown address, was arrested Thursday on felony criminal mischief and unlawful interference with fire alarm apparatus charges as well as criminal trespass, assaulting a police officer, simple assault, resisting arrest or detention, false alarm, disorderly conduct, and breach of bail charges, all misdemeanors after an incident at the Residence Inn on Hall Street.

Around 7:30 p.m., police were sent to the hotel to request assistance removing an unwanted guest. A hotel employee told officers a man, later identified as Parenteau, was bothering other guests while carrying around curtain rods. The hotel had previously made a complaint against him last week and there was active paperwork for Parenteau to be trespassed from the hotel.

Police arrived, searched for Parenteau, found him, and attempted to take him into custody, according to scanner chatter. During that time, he was accused of fleeing from police, locking himself inside a hotel room, making bomb threats via 911 calls, and eventually, being Tased by police. He then reportedly barricaded himself inside a bathroom.

After nearly two hours, he was arrested and brought to the county jail to be held.

According to Deputy Police Chief John Thomas, more charges could be issued in the case.

Parenteau was out on bail after being arrested in Concord on Jan. 3 on a felony drug charge and a single count of criminal trespass. He was arraigned and then released on bail. Parenteau is due in superior court for arraignment Friday.

During the past dozen years or so, Parenteau has had a number of run-ins with police and New Hampshire courts, according to records.

In May 2008, Parenteau was arrested on a felony theft charge in Laconia and later, found guilty. He pleaded guilty to two receiving stolen property charges out of Tilton in September 2009. Parenteau was charged with felony attempt in Franklin in June 2010 and found to be in violation of probation on the first theft charge in 2010. He was accused of multiple drug charges in Tilton in 2008 but pleaded guilty to a few counts. Parenteau was found guilty on another theft charge in Concord in 2015 while resisting and drug charges were dropped. That same year, he was found guilty on two drug possession charges out of Franklin. In 2016 and 2017, Parenteau faced more drug charges in Franklin and Tilton and more convictions as well as a felony bail jumping charge out of Franklin that was dropped later. In August 2018, he pleaded guilty to drug, interfering with police dogs or horses, resisting arrest or detention charges out of Franklin, and a drug charge in Northfield.
