Concord Police Log: Northfield Man Allegedly Steals Vehicle

Plus, lawyer charged with simple assault, sex offender allegedly fails to register, and Hopkinton man faces felony forgery, other charges.

CONCORD, NH — Jacob Z. Maynard, 22, of Park Street in Northfield, was arrested at 1:30 a.m. on May 7, 2015, on a felony theft of a motor vehicle charge. An officer was sent to Concord Hospital to arrest Maynard on an active warrant from September 2014 connected to an incident in the Durgin Block Parking Garage. Maynard was in the ER are the time he was arrested. According to the officer, Maynard said the warrant was a mistake and he had “already served time for a charge relating to this incident,” according to the report. The officer re-checked the warrant and found it was active and he was arrested. Maynard is due in court on June 15.

Marisela Guzman, 29, of Sheep Davis Road in Pembroke, was arrested at 10:02 p.m. on May 6, on simple assault and domestic violence-simple assault. An officer was called to the Concord Gardens for a domestic disturbance. When he arrived, he saw two men walking around with flashlights looking for an earring. The officer later learned that one of the men was the victim but said he did not want to press charges. The man alleged that Guzman, his ex, had stopped in the area and started yelling at him. During the course of the argument, she allegedly “ripped one of his earrings from his ear.” The officer saw scratches on his face and blood on his ear. Witnesses offered similar testimony about the incident. A 12-hour stop and arrest warrant was issued for Guzman. A Pembroke officer joined Concord officers at her home and she was reportedly hysterical and alleged that her ex choked her. The officer noted that she had redness on her neck but she was also reportedly rubbing herself with a paper towel. She was arrested and is due in court on June 15.

Dustin P. Averill, 21, of Fisherville Road in Concord, was arrested at 8:35 a.m. on May 5, on a bench warrant. Officers were sent to Concord Hospital for a report of a suspicious person who had just been discharged for an overdose trying to pick a fight outside of the ER. An officer arrived and spoke to a man matching the description, later identified as Averill, who denied he had just been discharged, had an overdose, or been in a fight. Averill had an active warrant for nonappearance in court from April 28, 2015, $500 cash bail, and he was arrested.

Justin D. Belair, 22, of Loudon Road in Concord, was arrested at 9:05 p.m. on April 1, for change of address; duty to inform, a felony. An officer was called to Loudon Road for a report of an assault. The renters of the apartment insisted that no violent act took place and allowed the police to look around the apartment. They encountered Belair, a registered sex offender, who had reportedly just moved to the apartment a few weeks before but hadn’t updated his registration since Jan. 15, 2015. There was a five-day requirement to change the address so Belair was arrested and held without bail. According to an online report, Belair was convicted of felonious sexual assault against a victim 13 or older and under 16 with an age difference of more than four years in 2013.

Jason W. Goodwin, 34, of South State Street in Concord, was arrested at 7:08 p.m. on April 1, on default or breach of bail conditions. An officer was sent to an apartment on South State Street to serve subpoenas. The officer later checked and found that Goodwin was allegedly in violation of his bail by being in the apartment within 300 feet of another tenant. The officer returned with others and Goodwin was arrested. He was reportedly very upset and stated that the order had been lifted. The officer re-checked the order and found it was still active, according to the report.

Cody R. Stanford, 20, and Dayna R. Cadiero, 18, both of Concord Gardens in Concord, both received summonses at 7 p.m. on May 1, for theft by unauthorized taking or transfer. Officers were sent to Walmart on Loudon Road for a report of two shoplifters in custody. The store employee alleged that they carried a sweatshirt, sneakers, and mints out of the store without paying for them. The employee stated that he knew Cadiero from previous “fraudulent return of merchandise” investigations at the store. The employee alleged that Cadiero grabbed a sweatshirt and Stanford put the new sneakers on and put the old ones in the box. They both then allegedly left through self-service checkout aisle without paying for the items. They were given no trespass orders and are due in court on June 8.

Charisse Gonthier, 24, of High Street in Troy, was arrested at 10:57 a.m. on April 1, on theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, a felony, and criminal mischief, from Oct. 14, and Oct. 19, 2011, on North State Street. She was arrested by Keene Police and picked up by a Concord officer.

Wendy G. Kelly, 52, of North State Street in Concord, was arrested at 6:45 a.m. on April 1, on a warrant. Officers were sent to the home for a report of a disturbance between Kelly and her son but determined that no crime had occurred. Kelly had an active warrant out of Conway District Court, $201.50 cash to settle, and was arrested.

Christian Cyr, 18, of Mountain Road in Gilmanton, and Alexis George, 19, of Oak Hill Road in Loudon, received summonses at 5:08 a.m. on April 1, for unlawful possession of alcohol. An officer was sent to the Steeplegate Mall on Loudon Road at around 3:30 a.m. for a report of young adults who might be in a car consuming alcohol. The officers spoke to a driver and three passengers and later, issued a summons to Cyr and George.
