Mathew C. Sanborn, 39, of Mountain Road in Concord was arrested at 10:48 a.m. on July 19 on sex offender registration; knowingly failure to comply and registration of online identifiers charges, both felonies. On May 15, a detective was requested to assist Sanborn with a sex offender registration update due to a new job and online identifiers. When asked when he started the job, he said, “a few weeks ago,” an affidavit said. When asked again, a family member who accompanied him said, April 10, the report said. One of the online identifiers included an X (formerly known as Twitter) account, which was not previously registered, the detective said. When asked when it was created, Sanborn said, a few weeks ago, the report said. The family member, however, interjected and said, “March.” The detective wrote both changes needed to have been added within five days, not weeks. Sanborn was convicted of aggravated felonious sexual assault in Merrimack County Superior Court in October 2011. The detective accused Sanborn of admitting to registration errors and he had never reported an X account before. A check of the account found it was created in December 2014, the report said. On May 24, Sanborn’s employer was contacted and told police he started on March 27, the report said. A warrant was issued on May 25.
