Valerie E. Fredette, 37, of North Main Street in Concord, was arrested at 8:12 p.m. on Oct. 30 on simple assault, criminal trespass, and resisting arrest or detention charges. Officers were sent to Concord Hospital on Pleasant Street for an unwanted guest. An emergency room nurse called 911 accusing Fredette of becoming “belligerent” after being discharged and refusing to leave, according to an affidavit. Officers went to her ER room and “attempted to reason” with her, telling her it was time to leave, but she “became extremely irate” and began to yell, ‘Take me to jail.’” The officers placed Fredette under arrest but she was accused of struggling, curling her legs, and “thrashing her arms around violently to avoid being placed into custody.” Eventually, the officers were able to handcuff her and lead her out of the ER, all while “she continued to yell incoherently,” requesting to be taken to jail. While being led out, the second officer accused Fredette of spitting at her. The spit, the report said, hit the officer in the eye. She was treated and Fredette was taken to the Merrimack County Jail.
