Fatal Crashes In New Hampshire: NH State Police Roundup

CONCORD, NH — New Hampshire State Police troopers are investigating two fatal crashes this weekend.

Around 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department began to receive reports about a crash on Route 16 in Madison. First responders arrived at the crash within minutes of the call, Amber Lagace, a spokeswoman for the department, said and found a late model Chevrolet Tahoe on its roof with three people ejected from the vehicle.

“Three adults were ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries,” she said. “One adult was transported to Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased while the other male and female adults were flown to Maine Medical in severe condition.”

Five children were inside the vehicle and sustained minor injuries, Lagace said.

Investigators said the Tahoe was traveling south when it lost control and rolled. The department’s preliminary investigation also revealed the adults were not wearing their seat belts. Good Samaritans rendered first aid and assisted the children before troopers arrived.

State police were assisted by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, the Madison and Conway police departments, the Conway and Madison fire departments, and Action Ambulance.

Around 5:15 p.m. on Friday, a crash was reported on Route 16 in Albany, in the area of Mile Marker 72.2.

When police arrived, they found a 2018 Ford F-550 had crashed with a 2020 Kia while driving on the southbound side of the road. The Kia then collided with a 2015 Volvo leading to a juvenile, inside the Kia, to be killed. Two adults were also seriously injured.

Troopers were assisted by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, the Conway Fire and EMS Department, and Action Ambulance.

Drownings Reported On 2 NH Water Bodies

Marine patrol is investigating two drownings on Saturday.

Around 12:45 p.m., troopers and marine patrol were sent to Profile Falls in Bristol for a possible drowning. Witnesses said a man was swimming in the falls, went under, and was located shortly thereafter. He was brought to shore by friends and other swimmers, including an off-duty nurse.

CPR was started on shore and he was pronounced dead at 1 p.m.

The man was identified as Victor Rosado-Rosario, 19, of Methuen, MA.

An elderly man from Beverly, MA, also drowned on Saturday in Ossipee.

Around 3:45 p.m., officials received a report that a kayaker was found unresponsive in the water at Conner Pond. He was brought to shore, CPR was performed, and he was pronounced dead. The man was identified as Ernest Richardson, 71.
