Concord firefighters extinguished a fire Wednesday night at a homeless camp while police opened an arson investigation of the incident.

CONCORD, NH — Concord fire and rescue teams extinguished another fire at a homeless camp after two propane tanks exploded on Wednesday night.

Around 10:15 p.m., Capital Region Fire Dispatch received a report from someone in the area of the Fairfield Inn on Gulf Street that there was an extensive fire along the train tracks near the homeless camp underneath the Water Street Bridge. Concord police dispatch received a call about the same time reporting two propane tanks had exploded, causing a fire on the tracks.

The first arriving officer confirmed a “pretty large” fire and advised firefighters to use Gas Street for access. Police officers began interviewing people and said no one appeared to have been injured during the explosion or fire. They also ran warrant checks on people in the area.
