CONCORD, NH — A man from Massachusetts was arrested on Saturday by New Hampshire State Police accused of wrong-way drunken driving on Interstate 393 in Concord.

Around 9 p.m., state police dispatch began receiving reports of a driver traveling east in the westbound lanes. Amber Lagace, the public information officer for the department, said, a short time later, the vehicle, a Mini Cooper, was found off the side of the Interstate, in the median between Exits 2 and 3.

The driver was identified as Hunter R. Dusio, 23, of Somerset, MA.

CT Driver Faces Speeding, Stolen Car Charges

A six-week investigation by state police led to multiple charges against a Connecticut man accused of stealing a car and driving as fast as 127 mph on Interstate 93.

Around 10:15 p.m. on Dec. 8, 2022, a trooper monitoring traffic on the northbound side of the Interstate in Tilton saw a driver in a BMW 330xi pass her at 101 mph. The trooper began following the vehicle and clocked the driver at 127 mph. The trooper attempted to stop the car, but it refused to stop, Lagace said.

“A motor vehicle pursuit ensued on Interstate 93 through Sanbornton, Meredith, New Hampton, and Plymouth,” she said. “The vehicle traveled at excessive speeds, exhibited lane control issues, and extinguished their lights while driving in attempts to evade police.”

A Troop F trooper was able to deploy a tire deflation device and the car exited the Interstate in Plymouth. Troopers found the vehicle on the Tenney Mountain Highway a short time later unoccupied.

State police continued to investigate the case and a suspect, Benjamin Saxon, 22, of East Hartford, CT, was identified. He was accused of using the Turo phone app — an AirBNB-like app for vehicles, to rent the car.

Saxon was arrested on Wednesday and charged with two counts of reckless conduct-deadly weapon, unauthorized use-rented property-$1,500+, and falsifying physical evidence, all felonies, as well as reckless operation and two disobeying an officer charges and an operating without lights violation. He was released on personal recognizance and is due in Belknap County Superior Court on Feb. 16.
