Jenkins' Brother Killed Man In Fight At Fair Lawn Home: Officials

William H. Jenkins was charged with aggravated manslaughter in the death of Roosevelt Rene at his brother's Fair Lawn home.

FAIR LAWN, NJ — The brother of Giants player Janoris Jenkins killed a man during a fight at the professional athlete's home earlier this week, according to a criminal complaint filed against Jenkins, the Bergen County Prosecutor' Office announced Thursday.

William H. Jenkins and Roosevelt Rene were involved in a "physical altercation" in the Fair Lawn home early Monday morning, acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo said.

The criminal complaint, which was filed in state Superior Court in Bergen County, did not identify exactly how Rene, 25, was injured during the alleged fight. However, it did allege that Jenkins "recklessly cause death under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to human life" by inflicting injuries that resulted in Rene's death.

Jenkins was charged with aggravated manslaughter in Rene's death.

After the alleged fight at the house, Jenkins fled to Ontario County, New York where he was arrested on a parole violation, Ontario County New York Prosecutor James B. Ritts said. He was due in Ontario County court at 2:45 p.m. Thursday, Ritts said.

Jenkins is in custody in New York State. No first appearance on the manslaughter charge has been scheduled, Calo said.

Rene's body was discovered in the Van Saun Place home Tuesday morning, Fair Lawn Police previously said. He was a hip-hop and R&B music producer known as Trypps Beatz.

An autopsy on Rene's body was scheduled for Wednesday morning, the results of which have not been released by the Bergen County Medical Examiner's Office. More information will be released once it is available, authorities said.

Janoris Jenkins was not at home when Rene's body was discovered, ESPN reported. Jenkins has been in Florida since Giants minicamp ended two weeks ago, according to sources. Jenkins' attorneys advised him to stay in Florida.

Rene was a fixture in the neighborhood and told people he was Jenkins' brother.

Fair Lawn Police previously said Jenkins has lived at the house since he became a member of the Giants two years ago. Neighbors said Jenkins is a "good guy."

The New York Giants are "aware of and monitoring the situation," according to multiple reports.
