Serial Knife-Wielding Robber Hits Two Stores In One Day: Police

Two robberies that occurred on Tuesday, one in Suffolk and another in Nassau, were found to be part of the ongoing knifepoint robbery pattern that has been taking place across Long Island since February.

According to authorities, the first robbery occurred at the convenience store The Barn, located across the street from West Babylon Junior High School at 10 Belmont Ave., at 1:48 p.m.

The second robbery occurred at GameStop, located at 2212 Sunrise Highway in Merrick, at 8:45 p.m.

In both incidents, a man who fits the description of the serial knife-wielding robber entered a store, displayed a large knife and demanded cash from the register. There were no injuries or arrests reported.

Suffolk County Police said "Major Case Section detectives are working closely with the Nassau County Robbery Squad. The investigation is continuing."

So far, police have connected the serial knife-wielding robber to three robberies in Suffolk County as well as six robberies and one attempted robbery in Nassau County:

Suffolk County Police announced they will be offering a $5,000 reward for any information on the serial robber.
