Both charged with robbery for stealing money from victim in Elmont, cops said.

Two people face charges for robbing a man on Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont Monday night, according to Nassau County Police.
Cops said Charlene Hernandez, 29, of Elmont, asked to borrow money from a 38-year-old victim at 8:15 p.m. When the victim refused, Hernandez reached into their pocket and tried to take the cash, police said.
The two began to struggle before Frank Smith, 46, of South Floral Park, who was also standing with them at the time, took cash from the victim’s pocket and ran, cops said.
