Massapequa BOE to Discuss Proposed State Reforms
Board of Ed plans to discuss proposals that may impact students.

As Gov. Andrew Cuomo outlines proposed reforms, Massapequa School officials are preparing for possible impacts on the district.
Superintendent Lucille Iconis released the following statement on the school’s website:

As many of you may be aware, Governor Cuomo recently unveiled numerous proposed educational reforms in the 2015 State of the State address and 2015-16 Executive Budget. Several of the proposals would significantly impact the already turbulent educational landscape. The Massapequa Board of Education and administration is in conversation about areas of concern facing our students, educators and district and will be discussing them at the public Board of Education meeting on March 5th in the MHS auditorium.

The March 5 meeting will be held at 8 p.m. in Massapequa High School.
