
A Ridge woman was killed and her neighbor, the driver of the car she was riding in, was critically injured in a single-car crash in Shoreham Thursday afternoon, police said.
According to police, 20-year-old Grace Quinones was driving a Dodge Caravan north on Randall Road, north of Whiskey Road, when she apparently lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree at about 1:15 p.m.
Quinones was airlifted via Suffolk County Police helicopter in critical condition to Stony Brook University Hospital. Her passenger, Deidre Bifulco, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Quinones and Bifulco lived across the street from each other on Sally Lane in Ridge, police said.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing, police said. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
