The Bronx man is now facing a felony "Leandra's Law" charge for the first offense DWI, according to New York State Police.
Threatening texts included, "I’m going to beat you, I wish you die tonight in a car fire" and "I hope you die," according to the complaint.
The victim, who is 4'10" and around 100 pounds, suffered a rib fracture, a partially collapsed lung and bruising to her body and face.
