HUDSON VALLEY, NY — 'Tis the season for giving back to your community. There are a number of ways that you and your family can help out through the holidays and help others.

Every day through Christmas, Patch will be highlighting a way you can provide compassion and resources to those in need.

Volunteer New York! makes it easy to find ways to help — through donations, supporting nonprofits and even volunteering from home.

Today's opportunity is for Gilda's Club Westchester. The organization seeks volunteers who will help spread the word about the organization's free programs that include counseling, support groups, workshops, education and social activities. Gilda's Club Westchester's mission is to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action and sustained by the community.
