• Man injured in Elizabeth City shooting, police seek information (wcti12.com) — Elizabeth City police are investigating a late-night shooting that wounded a 20-year-old man, whose injuries are not considered life-threatening. The victim arrived at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center Friday night, and investigators say the shooting happened in the Laurel Park area. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact city police, the Crime Line, or submit an anonymous text tip.
   

• Sentara Albemarle Medical Center seeks approval for $46.4M expansion in Elizabeth City by 2030 (13newsnow.com) — Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City is seeking state approval to add 25 acute care beds in a $46.4 million expansion planned for completion by January 2030. Residents can submit written comments on the proposal by June 1 and attend an in-person public hearing June 17 at the Pasquotank County Library on East Colonial Avenue.
   

• Blue Cross NC invests $1.5M into ECU psychiatric telehealth expansion (witn.com) — Elizabeth City State University students already benefit from on-campus mental health services funded by the Blue Cross NC Foundation, and that model is helping drive a broader expansion. A new $1.5 million investment will grow ECU’s telepsychiatry program and support more UNC campuses, with a long-term goal of integrated mental health care across the state system.
