• Dare County's Memorial Day 2026 Closures and Schedule Changes (outerbanksvoice.com) — Kitty Hawk residents should know that while Dare County offices and landfills will close for Memorial Day on May 25, trash pickup in Kitty Hawk will run on its normal schedule that week. The town’s Saturday residential and commercial trash collections also start May 30 and continue through Labor Day, adding extra service on the east side of U.S. 158 and for local businesses.
