You can complete the voluntary form online or mail it to the Department of Health & Human Services in Manteo. Officials also recommend reviewing your hurricane plan and stocking essential supplies before storms threaten.
   

• Speed limit changes coming to NC 12 ahead of busy Outer Bank season (wcti12.com) — If you’re driving from Manteo toward the Outer Banks this summer, expect slower posted speeds on key stretches of NC 12 starting Friday, May 15. Seasonal limits in several Dare and Currituck beach communities will drop to 35 mph through September 15 to improve safety, while one section in Southern Shores will see a small permanent speed increase.
