• 18th Annual Throwdown Surf Classic (outerbanksvoice.com) — Southern Shores families can look forward to the 18th Annual Throwdown Surf Classic at Chicahauk Beach Access on October 10, with registration open until the morning of October 3. Young surfers ages 5–18 will compete in multiple heats, and proceeds from food, merchandise, and a silent auction will benefit the Outer Banks Relief Foundation’s support for local residents in need.
