Big-Name Retailers Eye Vacant Toys R Us Stores

Big-name retailers are reportedly eyeing vacant Toys R Us stores in the region. There are indications that Hobby Lobby as well as Burlington Stores Inc. and TJX Co., which owns stores like TJ Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods, are among the retailers that could take over those empty stores. There are vacant Toys R Us locations in Bensalem in Langhorne. Click here for details.

New Giant Opens In Feasterville

Giant's new Feasterville store just opened today (Friday, Aug. 10) The store, located at 176 W. Street Road, replaces the store's old Feasterville location at 1055 Bustleton Pike. That store closed for good on Thursday, Aug. 9. Click here for details.

New Giant Opening In Doylestown

Giant will be opening another new store in Bucks County in the coming months. The former Redner's on Rt. 611 in Doylestown will become a Giant. The new Giant store will open in early 2019 and will replace the existing location on York Road in Jamison. No word yet on what's going into the Jamison Giant once that location closes. 2 Bon-Tons To Close

The Bon-Ton stores in Doylestown and Quakertown will close this month. No word yet on what will fill their vacancies. Click here for details.

Salt Cave Expanding

The Salt Cave, with a location in Doylestown, will be expanding to Newtown. It is expected to open in September, business representatives tell Patch. Click here for details.

Doylestown's Knight House Becomes State Street Steak & Seafood

State Street Steak & Seafood, a new restaurant at the former Knight House in Doylestown Borough, opened last month. Click here for details.

Rolled Ice Cream Shop Opens

The phenomenon of rolled ice cream has come to Bucks County. Sworl Handcrafted Rolled Ice Cream is located in Newtown, across the parking lot from Isaac Newton's. Click here for details.

New Donut Shop Opening

Factory Donuts, which has a location in Philadelphia, is expanding to Bucks County. They'll be opening a shop in Newtown in an undisclosed location. Click here for details.

New Burger Joint Opening In Former Friendly's

A new burger joint is coming to Warminster soon. Steak 'n Shake will be opening on W. Street Road near Mearns Road. Click here for details.

Turning Point Opening Second Bucks County Location

New Aldi Opening In Warrington

Aldi's new Warrington location will open this fall. The popular discount food store will be taking over the space previously occupied by Gander Mountain off Rt. 611. Click here for details.

Cross Culture Expanding

Cross Culture, an Indian restaurant with locations in Doylestown, Buckingham, New Hope and Princeton, N.J., will be opening in Newtown. Click here for details.

New Street Food Joint With Award-Winning Fries Opens

A new fast casual Greek restaurant that has award-winning french fries officially opened on July 31 in Warminster. This is the second location for Freddy's, located at 350 Jacksonville Road. There is also one in Delaware, Ohio. That spot recently was voted as having the best french fries in the Columbus area. Click here for details.

Nina's Waffles Expansion Delayed

Nina's Waffles, the popular ice cream and sweet shop with four Bucks County locations, will be opening a store at the historic Toll House in Newtown. A summer opening was originally planned, however, construction on the building remains underway. Business representatives tell Patch they'll be confirming an opening date shortly. New Upscale Distillery Opens
