BUCKS COUNTY, PA — This week brought a mixed bag of news to the Bucks County business scene.

While a popular Lower Bucks County pickle business announced its expansion with plans for a new retail store in New Hope, two Bucks County businesses shut down operations.

The Swig Nightclub closed its doors last Sunday at the Pavilion in Warrington, while the owners of the Be Well Bakery and Cafe turned off the lights for the last time at their Richboro cafe on Friday.

For lovers of fresh seafood, there's good news. Blue Point Grill in Newtown announced the opening of its new outdoor patio for the spring and summer season. The seafood restaurant continues to bring the freshest catches in the region to Bucks County, setting it apart from the crowd.

Blue Point Grill Opens Outdoor Patio

The Blue Point Grill in Newtown is welcoming spring with the freshest seafood catches in the region and the opening of its brand new outdoor patio. “Spring and summer are prime time for seafood, and the Blue Point Grill is the place to eat, especially with Easter and Mother’s Day coming up,” said Steve Murray, Blue Point's general manager, who spoke exclusively with Patch about the business and what sets Blue Point apart from the crowd. “People come here to taste our seafood, to taste our oysters. It’s the best quality seafood that’s out there. It's the best quality you're going to find.”

Pickle Business Expanding To New Hope

A Lower Bucks County-based pickle business is expanding to New Hope, according to a social media announcement from Giovanni’s Dillicious Pickles in Bristol. Its New Hope location, slated to open at 1270 South Main Street, is planned as a retail location featuring the company’s popular jarred products and "over 60 different pickle flavors." According to the announcement, a full tasting bar is also part of the plan for the new store.

Popular Nightclub Closes In Warrington

The Swig nightclub at the Warrington Pavilion Shopping Center on Easton Road has closed its doors permanently, according to an announcement posted on the Swig Entertainment Group's Facebook page. In the post, the club wrote, "We are sad to announce that after eight years, Swig is closing. We thank all of our beautiful customers for all the memories of the last eight years. Thank you for all the love and support you have faithfully shown us. We are grateful for your patronage ... and spending your weekends with us."

Commercial Law Firm Expands Into PA

Becker, a Florida-based multi-practice commercial law firm, has announced its expansion into Pennsylvania with a new Doylestown office. Becker also announced that Stefan Richter and Josephine Lee Wolf have joined as shareholders in the Condo, Co-Op & HOA Practice at 2003 South Easton Road, Suite 205, Doylestown. According to the firm, the new Pennsylvania location highlights Becker’s growth and allows the firm to serve clients in multiple jurisdictions.

Joining the new Doylestown office are Josephine Lee Wolf and Stefan Richter.

Be Well Bakery Closes Richboro Location

Be Well Bakery and Cafe closed its Bucks County location on Friday at the Addisville Commons on Second Street Pike in Richboro. The family-owned bakery specializing in health-conscious fare announced the closing on its Facebook page. The owners said they will continue to operate their Huntingdon Valley cafe in Montgomery County while continuing to raise their three children.
