Wildfires in Canada are so intense right now that the northeastern part of the U.S. is currently in a smokey haze as people are warned to stay inside and keep windows closed. Areas as far as North Carolina in the south to Ohio in the west are experiencing the effects from the hundreds of wildfires burning.

The air in parts of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania reached hazardous levels and prompted authorities to warn locals to stay inside. Air quality alerts have been issued in multiple regions, with conditions expected to last for days.
